Chinese cabinet
Based on a traditional Chinese design using elm wood, this lower cabinet is a refreshing piece from the Q'ing Dynasty, from the Gansu province. Like most furniture from north east China, the style is compact and quite simple but enhanced by the brass handles, hinges and door plates. This inner space was used originally to secure valuables. The front doors being locked into place and secured with a brass key pin. The measurements of this elegant cabinet is ideal today as a stand for a flat screen television, or as a low sideboard.
