BBC's 'Antiques Road Trip' films at Dustbin and Bones

August 2013

The BBC’s second highest rating daytime programme “Antiques Road Trip” is a series which features two popular and well-loved antiques experts who travel around the country in a classic car buying and selling antiques at auction in the hope of making a profit. The expert making the most profit by the end of the series wins.

Filming their eighth series, antiques expert Phillip Serrell casts his discerning eye over the unique products of Dustbin and Bones.  Due to air in early 2014, the show won a Scottish BAFTA last year and attracts around 2.8 million viewers. Not just about antiques, the show is also a great example of British humour and eccentricities.

Available for private viewings and photo shoots.                                                                                           info@dustbinandbones.com

Toy Soldier Tables and Shelves are Born

Charity to be announced soon!

May 2013

Toy Soldier tables from Dustbin and Bones

Pictured: Beefeater(see below) or Yeoman, Grenadier guard, Scots guard and The Household calvary. Also known collectively as the Queens guards to guard the sovereign.

This particular selection includes vintage hardwood, statuettes carved 70 odd years ago. The first ones were discovered in a remote antique shop in London in all their vintage glory.  And now we are turning the concept into coffee tables. If you believe in Ben Stiller’s “A night at the museum” then you will believe in these little fellas! Each soldier measures roughly 70-80cm high.

Our soldier tables and shelves are custom made to order. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.

The Beefeater – HISTORY
A popular and respected British icon

Yeoman warders are drawn from all parts of the UK to guard the Tower of London.

Early Yeoman had a poor reputation until the Duke of Wellington in 1826, whipped the warders into shape pretty smartish. The role is now restricted to those that can boast 22 years of military service, have reached the position of at least warrant officer and awarded a good conduct medal.

They are employed by an independent charity Historic Royal palaces; a prized position at the historic part of the nations military history. The warder has become a popular military symbol transcending social class and demographic.

New Logo

Dustbin and Bones is Born!

February 2013

The original logo proved controversial. The cow horn symbolises death! So we adopted our current LOGO of vintage toy soldiers which have since been concerted to tables and shelves. The choice seems logical to us now.

What do you think? Old Logo or New Logo?
